The Lordsburg post of the American Legion Auxiliary held a pot luck dinner after its meeting at E Charro Cafe. Members from Deming Silver City Santa Rita and Hatch attended. P Baker was initiated. Commander Manuel P Garcia and Department staff urged increased voter support. The next district meeting is in Hatch on Feb 8 at 7 pm, with mid winter conference in Hobbs on Feb 23.

Local Chamber Tour Highlights Neighboring Communities
Members of the Globe and Safford Chambers of Commerce hosted a Local Group trip last Saturday. The tour began with breakfast at the Manner House, included a sightseeing drive to the San Carlos Indian Reservation, a meal at Apache Land Cafe Globe, and a 3 p.m. stop at Picket Post Resort near Superior with refreshment service. A banquet and program with talks and a color movie on Gila County closed the trip. Notable attendees included Jack Morgan and Mrs. Morgan, Mayor B. M. Kimbley and Mrs. Kimbley, and other local officials.
