Local Squadron Civil Air Patrol Activated
The Lordsburg Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol has been activated. A meeting to discuss details is set for Monday evening January 18 at the Neer and Son place on Second Street. The session begins at 8:00 p.m. All members are urged to attend to arrange equipment procurement from the state and plan mutual meetings and activation.

Margaret Richards a sophomore music education major at New Mexico A and College will present an organ recital Sunday January 7 titled Festival Toccata by Filet. She is the daughter of A Richards of Lordsburg and was valedictorian of Lordsburg High School 1952 and chosen a delegate to Girls State.

Body Found On Highways 70 80 Near Lordsburg
The Hidalgo County sheriff's department investigated a man found along Highways 70 and 80 about thirteen miles east of Lordsburg. Harry C. Grissom, a former Kansas resident staying in Deming, was identified. death judged by exposure with no foul play suspected. Funeral services set at Heather Mortuary with burial at Mountain View Cemetery.

Dentists Examine Lordsburg Students For Fluoride Study
A state wide survey on dental health will launch in Lordsburg on January 19 with dentists and dental scientists examining 234 junior high students. Bus Whitmore of this city received serious eye injuries Monday while working on a car radiator. Rust particles pierced both eyes, he was taken by wife to Fl Paso and admitted to Hotel Dieu for treatment. Doctors now believe one eye may be saved despite initial fears of blindness.
