The Lordsburg Hospital Association met at A. W. Morningstar's office with most stockholders present. Officers reported the hospital is in fine condition and efficiently managed. The board elected Jarl J. Mohler, Dr. C. P. Austin, Dr. B. Austin, Dr. A. Buvens, A. W. Morningstar, Frank K. Coon and Mrs. Margaret Downey. Mohler was re elected president and Morningstar vice president.

John L Augustine Named New Postmaster

Following the resignation of Postmaster M Q Hardin Congressman Nestor Montoya urged the President to appoint John L Augustine with county and state endorsements. Southern Pacific starts big tank project at Lordsburg terminal

Master Mechanic O. B. Schoenky directed a force tearing down buildings east of the Lordsburg round house to build a massive steel oil tank for 185 cars or 2 910 000 gallons. A reinforced concrete levee will enclose the tank to prevent a repeat of a past disaster. A 100 ft electric turntable for handling engines will accompany the improvements.

Justice of the peace and constable election results show CC. W. Marsalis and Harry McKeel re elected by large majorities. The judge received 284 votes and McKeel 276, with Dorrance 104 for justice and Martinez 112 for constable. Voters total 388.

Woman's Missionary Society Elects Officers

During the regular meeting on Friday January Sth the Woman's Missionary Society elected officers for the year. Mrs. Puller was named President with Mrs. Lockwood as vice president and Mrs. Trimble as secretary. Treasurer is Mrs. Syday with Mrs. Vanderpool as cor secretary and Mrs. Puller as social service superintendent. Mrs. Wagner serves as missionary voice agent and pianist, with Mrs. Hancock in charge of mission study and publicity. Next meeting is at the church Friday afternoon January 12th on Our Evangelistic Task. Public installation will await the president's return from Los Angeles.
