Clem Baisa Retires From National Guard in Lordsburg

Clem Baisa, longtime unit administrator and First Sergeant in the Lordsburg National Guard detachment, officially retires after 34 years in the Guard and 30 years in his post. He will work part time until August, with Phillip Hickson succeeding him.

Animas School Board Set to Meet in Regular Session

The Animas School Board will meet in regular session on Tuesday January 13 at 7 30 p m in the Animas School Elementary Library. The public is urged to attend as the agenda will be posted in area post offices. John P McShan faces charges of stealing a saddle and other gear. The saddle was recovered from a local man who bought it from McShan after he hocked it to recover his title for a car given up to pay rent.

County Officials Sworn In Hidalgo County Jan 2 1987

Nine elected Hidalgo County officials and deputies were sworn in by District Judge Manuel D. V. Saucedo on Friday January 2 1987. Judge Norman Hodges retired that day after serving since 1963. V Lee Wesley will succeed. Absentee voting for the February 3 1987 School District Election begins January 9 at the County Clerk's Office, open 8 to 5, with a January 30 deadline at 5 PM.
