Silver City six high schools compete in the 8th annual New Mexico Western basketball tournament at the college field house Friday and Saturday January 4 and 5. Lordsburg meets Deming in the opener at 7 p.m. with Gadsden facing Cobre at 3 p.m. Western and Cliff have byes. Western hosts the event with trophies awarded after the final at 9:50 p.m.
