Alvarez Resigns and Council Session Turbulence Report
The February 10 Lordsburg council meeting featured a heated debate over a modernization loan of 131,829 with government backing and city repayment. Alvarez opposed the loan amid rumors about outside help, while Mayor Hill rolled out a new personnel plan naming Art Talavera head supervisor and three new superintendent roles for Keller Delagarza Winslow, prompting Alvarez to challenge the moves and spar with officials on private property leak investigations.
