Fire damages Tower Gas Station into upper area
Residents awoke to a loud fire alarm about 2 a.m. at the Tower Gas station west of Ee and Was. The blaze is traced to a faulty transformer and was confined to the upper part of the building causing minor damage. The station is owned by T. DePaoli and managed by Sanchez.

High Wind and Dust Storm Hits Lordsburg
The high wind and dust storm last Saturday afternoon February 2 caused minor traffic accidents. Frontier Airlines reports the wind storm hit Lordsburg around 10:00 a.m. and lasted until 5:00 p.m. with peak wind at 52 mph. Visibility at the airport dropped to half a mile and sometimes zero while the temperature stayed at 60 degrees. The storm moved from the west and shifted to the south-southwest by 5:30 p.m.
