Campaign shows gains in infantile paralysis drive

The statewide and national infantile paralysis associations report strong results from a Hidalgo county drive. Activities raised 342.77 with net 248.48 after expenses. Half stays in Hidalgo for local treatment, half goes to national headquarters. Local events featured donations, cake sale, emblem tabs, and a Saturday ball attended by two soon-to-be-curable children.

Brickley Bible Class Hosts Social Hour at Methodist

The Brickley Bible Class at the Methodist church held a social hour Monday night in the church undercroft with over 60 attendees. Ladies contributed covered dishes and the event offered a buffer luncheon, diverse food, and community singing. Judge Lujan Holds Brief Court Session in District Court

Judge Eugene D. Lujan of the Seventh Judicial District convened a short term to tidy up matters left by the late Judge Hay. Richard Langley, who pled guilty before Hay, received a two year suspended sentence if he takes a permanent leave of absence. One divorce case was heard but final action was withheld.
