The McWhorter ranch home burned Saturday afternoon while Mrs. McWhorter was alone. She saved some contents but most furniture and wardrobe were lost. one hand was burned while attempting to save papers. Insured for 2500 dollars, future rebuilding planned on the site.

Drilling Machinery Arrives for New Oil Well
Harry W. Long of the Long Beck Oil Company and IL W. Foster arrived as drilling gear reached Southern Pacific yards. The freight car will move to a point near the site where the first well will be "padded in" and work begins at once.
