Sale Of Liberal To Silver City Men Announced
Richard B. Rice publisher of The Lordsburg Liberal for 16 years announced the paper has been sold to three Silver City men. Buyers are Jack A. Walz Kenton E. Walz and Charles Marquez who plan to assume operations January 1. Rice retires and will stay in Lordsburg with Mrs Rice. Celestina A Tarango remains in charge of the Liberal office.

State Receives Federal IPA Grant for Salary Survey Project
Governor Bruce King announced New Mexico obtained a 4905 grant under the Intergovernmental Personnel Act to fund an intergovernmental salary and fringe benefits survey. Participating entities include the University of New Mexico, the City of Albuquerque, the NM Association of Counties, and the NM Municipal League, led by the State Personnel Board. The act also enables mobility between federal and state or local levels and funds training and advisory services.

Delegates Named To Cotton Council Meet In New Mexico
Fourteen New Mexico leaders were named as delegates to the National Cotton Council annual meeting in El Paso January 29 and 30. State Unit Chairman Robert H. Vickers will head the delegation with other producers ginners and warehousemen from across the state and alternates listed.
