The Liberal salutes Lordsburg merchants and business people as public spirited citizens whose prosperity supports the city and readers. The note emphasizes gratitude, mutual trade, and wish for a joyous holiday season backed by local merchants’ sincere hopes for readers' happiness.
Nat A Gammon was elected president of Hotel Hidalgo during a December 18 meeting of the Board of Directors at State National Bank in El Paso. He succeeds the late W F Ritter. Remaining officers include L B Robinson and H M Daugherty as vice presidents and Elizabeth Gammon as vice president. R E McKee becomes chairman of the board.
A compendium of the Golden Rule rendered in multiple tongues and traditions. Mohammedan, Persian, Chinese, Hindu, Grecian, Buddhist, Roman and others express the ethic of treating others as one wishes to be treated. The text links moral reciprocity to universal social harmony.
The governor urges citizens to prevent accidents during Christmas and New Year holidays. He calls for cooperation with city and county officials in a coordinated safety campaign after thirteen fatal accidents occurred statewide between December 24 and January 2.
A brief, old fashioned Christmas note cites the maxim Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. The message closes with a seasonal blessing and a call for goodwill.

The local Eastern Star chapter held a candle light ceremony Saturday night at the hall installing new officers. Installing Worthy Matron Mrs Hazel Chace Installing Chaplain Mrs Luella Clark and Installing Marshal Johnny Van Meter were named. Mrs Judy Chase was installed as Worthy Matron, with Homer Roundtree also noted among officers.
The Past Matron Club met at the Hidalgo Hotel for a social dinner in the hotel lounge last Friday evening. Attendees gathered after 4 o clock to share conversation and fellowship in a friendly gathering.
Douglas Strain of Lordsburg won the 61st prize at the spot landing contest held at Kuykendall Airport on Sunday the 21st. The second prize went to Marland QC, Marshall of Safford, Arizona.
J R Bradford Sr remains at his Sw Texas home as he plans continued work on his farm facility with assistance from his son John Bra farmilio.
