Lordsburg Man Dies In Hanover Mine Accident
Agustine M Reyes 41 of Lordsburg was killed when rock collapsed at the Princess Mine 12 miles east of Silver City New Mexico at the 1300 foot level. Co worker Joe Hales 22 was injured and treated in Silver City. Burial in Lordsburg awaited an inquest funeral arrangements pending. Reyes born May 28 1923 in Santa Maria Del Oro Duran Mexico.

Train Consolidation Upheld By New Mexico Commission
In an order dated December 15 1964 the State Corporation Commission of New Mexico upheld findings from a May 20 1964 hearing in Deming on consolidating Southern Pacific trains 1 and 3 and 2 and 4. The commission ruled intrastate public convenience does not require trains 1 and 4 in interstate commerce and scolded SP for proceeding despite a suspension order.

Two Men Charged With Possession Of Marijuana
Two local men were arrested on North street last Saturday afternoon by city and county officers and charged with possession of marijuana. Alfonso Mesa Ornelas, 28, also pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated and was fined 150 dollars. Enrique Ruiz Mejia, 36, pleaded guilty to riding with a driver under the influence and was fined 10 dollars. Bond set at 5000 dollars for both. Ornelas posted Saturday night, Mejia held in county jail. A search of the car yielded what officers described as marijuana seeds and flakes. a statement on purchase was given by one suspect. the other denied possession. Evidence will be lab tested at New Mexico State University.
