Sheriff Recovers Three Runaway Boys from Texas
Three runaways named Jones Nicholas and Leonard from Floydada Texas were picked up by Sheriff Allen last week with a Ford roadster belonging to one boy’s mother. The youths traveled about 600 miles in two days and nights and were held for their home folks to collect them.

Strict Enforcement of Law Urged at Grant County Session
Union church in Hurley hosted a Sunday session on December 7 for Sumday school workers from Grant county. Ministers from seven churches, plus visiting clergy from Phoenix, spoke on creating an atmosphere of worship and on law enforcement led by District Attorney Forrest Fielder. Walter Doudna Burned to Death in Interior Fire
Walter Doudna, a well known painter and decorator, died from burns after mistaking gasoline for kerosene while preparing interior work at a Fairly residence. A passerby alerted helpers who fought flames with pocket knives, Dr. Crocker treated him, and he died at Lördnburg hospital. The funeral was held at Mountainview cemetery with Rev W Williams officiating.
