Church of Christ Improves Building Annex

Improvements were made to the Bible School annex of the Church of Christ. A new Bible School room and rest rooms were added, other rooms replastered and painted, and the annex roof reshingled. Further work is planned.

Air Corps Engineering Officers Training Opens for Cadets

The War Department offers an non pilot specialized training for eligible former flying cadets and certain civilians to become Squadron Engineering Officers. Cadets undergo about nine months of study at New York University and Purdue University followed by Army Air Corps technical training and then receive commissions as 2nd Lieutenants in the Air Reserve.

Funeral of Infant Son of Mr and Mrs Carl Evans

Funeral services were held Tuesday evening for the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Evans with Rev. H P Hines in charge. Music was by Miss Ernestine Huston Mary Dee Hindman and Mrs Clyde Luna. The Valley View Community Club met Saturday evening for a pot luck supper followed by an encouraging talk from Mr. Bason on feeder calves, a new Valley experiment. W G Harris aged 70, prominent southwest cattle buyer and feeder with operations in Sterling Colorado Billings Montana South Gate California and grain elevators in Colorado and Nebraska, died December 4 1940 at his Sterling office after a sudden heart attack. Missionary Couple Spreads Philippines Work at Local Church

Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Wolfe celebrated 31 years as missionaries to the Philippines speaking at the Church of Christ. They traveled from Albuquerque to Lordsburg and showed colored slides of their field. After Lordsburg they planned more talks before sailing from Los Angeles to the Philippines.
