Durants automobile manouvre star from Flint Michigan, son of W C Drapant, toured Lordsburg with guests and spoke of the town as a bright spot on their trip. Mexican President Hospitable to American Aviators

Lieut Thad V Foster, a popular air officer, spent three weeks in Mexico City on leave with the Maria polo team. He stayed at the presidential palace and was hosted by President Ortiz Hub who expressed friendliness toward American aviators and set a hospitable tone at Chapultepec.

Santa Fe Official Reviews Lordsburg Outlook

L V Gardiner of the Santa Fe railroad freight and passenger department surveyed conditions in Lordsburg this week and expressed satisfaction with the outlook. Gardiner succeeds Fd Donohue, who now works with the Southern Union Gas company in Albuquerque after years of visiting the area.

A large number of Santa Claus letters arrived late at the Liberal office and will be published next week. Publishers will mail Santa a marked copy via air mail special delivery, ensuring he receives messages to address the children's needs.

U C elects same directors and chamber reports

The Lordsburg Chamber of Commerce annual meeting at the Hollen hotel heard secretary Holt’s report detailing a year of activity and plans for the coming year. Tourists spent over half a million dollars in Lordsburg, aided by direct connections to headquarters, with recognition of hotels, camp grounds, and highway plans. Col A. Hold Up At Lester Pool Room In Western Style

A masked bandit held up about ten patrons at a Lester pool room last Friday night and robbed them of cash on hand. A confederate waited in a car in the rear and the duo fled before officers arrived. The total amount stolen ranges from 8200 to 8700 dollars.

Mohair Growers Hold Meeting in Lordsburg on Dec 1

A meeting at the Lordsburg courthouse gathered 60 attendees including Landrum of the American Mohair Producers Cooperative Marketing Corporation and Baker of the New Mexico Wool Marketing Association. They discussed sale of two and a quarter million pounds of mohair at about 40 cents per pound, marketing options, and the choice to stay with the American association, endorsing County Agent Gleason’s work before adjournment.

Improvements at airport soon in Lordsburg area

Col Fisher and Lt Foster of the Army Air Corps visited Lordsburg to announce major improvements at Landabury Airport. A new meteorological station, passenger facilities, subsurface gas facility for government ships, and extended airfield infrastructure will be built, with heavier air traffic expected this year.
