Attendance at the Big Horn Banquet drew enthusiastic turnout for a Youth Fraternity gathering. Organizers reported strong support and local participation in the post event meeting.
Representatives from Santa Fe, Silver City and Deming attended the Lordsburg event as the Big Game Protective Association held its annual banquet at the high school building. The night featured a musical program, speeches by state and local officials, and praise for wildlife protection work amid weather that reduced attendance.
Dr and Mrs F J Wadford former Lordsburg residents now on a homestead near Manom New Mexico visit friends this week before returning to their homestead They plan a Christmas reunion with their children and relatives.
The Australian aviatrix Mrs M Keith-Miller, famed for a record women’s round trip flight, was reported missing during a Havana to Miami leg but was later found drifting east and landing on a Banama Island. She had recently returned from New York to Cuba record flight and met Lordsburg’s Federated Clubs leader Mrs R A Keon at a dinner in Albuquerque.
The Lordsburg Mavericks defeated Morenci 14 to 13 on Thanksgiving Day at Morenci, with Nard and Wright starring in end runs and line plays. Morenci led 13 0 at halftime, then Lordsburg rallied to score two touchdowns and secure the win as Hernandez and Fisher executed key plays. Total yardage favored Lordsburg at 322 to 180 with 75 rushing and passing yards for the Mavericks.
Mrs Roy K McDonald entertained a group of boys and girls at her home on a Tuesday afternoon from 3 to 6 o clock to celebrate Louise McDonald s eleventh birthday. Candy favors were given at arrival and Louise received many gifts. Refreshments of ice cream and cake were served to a list of little guests and the honoree.

J Jones and WD Baisley of Pocadens California visited Mr Baisley’s son George Hailey in Pasadena. Their Ford coach was stolen from the side of a garage. A search was started and the car abandoned about two miles east of Ban Simon. The car had been ransacked with a shirt a 32-20 gun and a billy club missing. The senior Baisley is a special police officer of Pasadena and a deputy sheriff of Imperial County.
A recount of the November 4 election in Deming shows F. M. Luckie, Democratic candidate, winning probate judge by two votes instead of three. The recount, presided over by A. W. Marshall, mayor, updated the margin between Luckie and Republican Holt.

Mrs J 8 Mactavish and her son from Magdalena New Mexico are guests at the Lee Blackburn home after arriving last night. Helen Anne the newborn granddaughter attracts attention as Mrs M is the mother and Alister a brother of Mrs Blackburn.
