Services Held Saturday For Ena Mitchell
Ena Richins Walter Mitchell 86 longtime Lordsburg resident died Tuesday December 1 after a short illness at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces. Funeral services were held Saturday December 5 at the Cafetorium of Lordsburg High School at 2 00 p m with Bishop Woyd Steward officiating. Interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery. She was born January 3 1906 in Colonial Diaz Chihuahua Mexico and was a Probate Judge in Hidalgo County until her death. She spent most of her life in the Lordsburg area and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and active in local civic activities. She is survived by 3 sons Charles R Walter Las Cruces Howard M Walter Lordsburg David W Walter Annapolis Maryland 7 grandchildren 19 great grandchildren and numerous nieces nephews and cousins. Pallbearers were her grandsons Dr Charles R Walter Jr Keith Walter Eric Walter Robert Jones Bernard Richardson Jr and Jim Wision. Honorary bearers were all the nephews. Bacas Funeral Chapels in charge of arrangements.

Frank Schmidt dies at 57 in Illinois
Frank Schmidt of Arlington Heights Illinois died at home on Monday December 7 at age 57. A Lordsburg High School graduate he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as a youth and remained active. He attended Brigham Young University and is survived by his wife four children seven grandchildren and his mother in Silver City.
