City Council Approves Airport Study Bid
City Council approved Armstrong Consultants Inc of Grand Junction Colorado for design work on Lordsburg Municipal Airport. Five other bids were listed. Grant amount depends on city funds and matching funds from NM DOT. matching ranges 5 to 15 percent. Also approved appreciation pay of 200 dollars for most employees and 25 dollars for two new workers.

Lordsburg Postoffice Adds Saturday Hours
Beginning Saturday December 7 the Lordsburg Postoffice will be open Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Postmaster Kent Simmons says the expanded schedule remains permanent. After Christmas the office will close at 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. Starting December 30 customers should conduct postal business before 4:30 PM the outgoing mail cutoff.

Moonlight Madness ready in Lordsburg on Friday
Lordsburg hosts Moonlight Madness Friday evening from 6 to 10 sponsored by the Hidalgo County Chamber of Commerce. A 12 foot Christmas Tree donated by David Ramos will stand at the site, transported by Manny Rendon of Smith Ford, with power hookup approved by Tommy Hood and the City of Lordsburg. Mac McPherson led arrangements and a local group may sing carols by the tree. Booth setup for Mini Mall in the B and B Building starts at 1 30 PM coordinated by Joanna Lopez.
