Gun with Cherokee Bill initials carried by Lordsburg official

T P Love, a chief in the Lordsburg Immigration Service, owns a 45 Colt rifle once owned by his father Sheriff T D Love of Borden County Texas. The gun came from Oklahoma train robber W T Cook who received it from Cody Green known as Cherokee Bill. The ivory handle bears C G and W T initials. Love uses the gun in official duties.

Hidalgo County sent delegates to the State 4-H Club meeting in Las Cruces last week. PWA Deadline Extended for New Mexico Projects

Giles Hulette Tatum and Payne government officials from the Range Studies Department of Natural and Artificial Revegetation Work of the Boils Conservation Service spent Tuesday night in Lordsburg. Animas CCC Camp Organized For Grazing Work

Lieut. R W H Carter commander and Lieut. David second in command told reporters on Tuesday that the Animas CCC camp is fast taking shape shifting to a grazing camp rather than soil conservation. It is the region’s only camp of this type with Lieut Epstein noting Michigan officers are being sent to the Southwest.
