York Named Animas Superintendent for 1992 93
George Buddy York is named Superintendent of Animas Schools for the 1992 93 term. He comes from Musquero School District where he led four years as superintendent and earlier headed basketball at Eunice High School. A New Mexico native, he holds a Lamar University Bachelors and an Eastern New Mexico University Masters. He and his wife Jennifer have four children and his karate career includes a third straight year on the U.S. team with Hong Kong competition in May and Manila bid next year.

Lordsburg Council Approves Paving Bid for Streets
The Lordsburg City Council approved a street paving bid of 372 521.78 on August 27, in a special session. The first phase totals 420 338.74 including 25 000 in fees and 22 816.96 tax. Southwest Transit Mix Inc Silver City submitted the sole bid for the project on multiple streets. Funds come from a 1989 gasoline bond with state matching grants of 35 000 and 45 000. The plan covers drainage work as well as chip sealing and paving.
