Powder Factory Tragedy Claims Four Men's Lives
A spark from hundreds of pounds of powder at a mine near City triggered a blast with immense heat that killed four men and injured others. M. E. Patterson, D. C. McMeans, Julius Simon, and Ollie Stepp died or perished after being moved to hospitals, while Mrs. McMeans and Mrs. Simon, among others, offered support. Funeral services were held at Heather Funeral Home and Mountain View cemetery.

Mrs. Lida Lewis, after months with her sister and brother in law in Wichita Kansas, visited Lordsburg friends Sunday and Monday before leaving for Hot Springs. She will serve as housekeeper at Carrie Tingley Hospital for Crippled Children, chosen by the hospital board and deemed highly qualified.

Young People Discuss Ten Commandments at Church
Last Sunday evening a good crowd of boys and girls discussed the ten commandments in Exodus and how they were carried into the teachings of Christ. Next Sunday evening they will discuss courtesy from a Bible standpoint led by George Been. All aged ten to fifteen invited, older folks also welcome at church of Christ Sunday at seven.
