Cloverdale Picnic Plans Nearing Completion
Cloverdale picnic sponsored by local ranchers and Cloverdale residents will be co sponsored by Lordsburg Elks Club on Saturday September 2. Ace Roberson serves as general chairman with Freeman McWhorter Sherwood Culberan and a team organizing children races and prizes. Women volunteers led by Mrs F Dudley Jones Freeman McWhorter and Sherwood Culberson plan to oversee refreshments and salads while Ebb Jackson leads the barbecue under Ford Brown and Dennis Nolan. Organizers expect 400 to 600 attendees for a noon barbecue and a second at 6 pm followed by a dance with Forrest Delk and his Silver City orchestra ending at sun up.

Accident Victim Flown To El Paso After Highway Crash
Mrs. Alice Kirechmen Hamlett and her daughter Kathleen of Silver City were injured when their car overturned on the Silver City highway at 6 20 A M Sunday. They were taken to Lordsburg hospital by Heather ambulance. Dr. Jones of El Paso evaluated injuries before Mrs Hamlett was flown to El Paso for observation.

Woman Injured In Two Car Collision Near Lordsburg
A Sunday evening crash on Highway 70 about 19 miles east of Lordsburg involved a Packard driven by Asa Elliott of Ft Worth and a Mercury driven by H J Black. Mrs William Johnson owner of the Mercury and her daughter and Elliott were taken to Lordsburg hospital for first aid. Mrs Johnson suffered a scalp laceration and sprains.
