Attempt Fails To Settle Suit Out Of Court
Alan A. Koff and his attorney urged the Lordsburg School Board to drop its quiet title suit over a 100 by 1 000 foot land strip along the old Hachita railroad right of way south of the hospital. The board, pursuing title clearance for the site of a new junior high, left the suit active after receiving legal guidance.

Arizona Man Killed When Car Hits Truck
An Arizona man died on arrival at Hidalgo General Hospital after his car collided with a truck on Interstate 10 about 11 miles west of Lordsburg near 10 p m. Carl Vester Southard 64 of Avondale was eastbound in the westbound lane when his car struck John Otto Retthe 38 of Covina California driving the truck. The westbound truck had just passed another vehicle when Southard’s car sideswiped it. An eastbound motorist said the Southard car had been in the westbound lane for miles. No evidence of intoxication was found by county coroner Dr J H Baxter. State Police Officer Joe Hateland investigated the crash.
