Accidental Pistol Discharge Fatal to LA Boy
Robert A. Altuna 4 son of Mr and Mrs Louis Altuna of Los Angeles died after a target pistol discharged while Louis Altuna handled the unloaded weapon near Lords. The bullet entered the abdomen and despite hospital aid the boy died. The Altuna family left for Los Angeles after the incident and funeral arrangements were not yet announced.

Bayard Resident Injured In Local Auto Crash
Bayard New Mexico Chief of Police Lalo Sanchez reports a Tuesday morning two car crash on Highway 60 near Ranch House cafe and Yucca Motel in Lordsburg. Mrs Wallin Tapley wife of Bayard’s police chief sustained a skull fracture a fractured leg and a fractured shoulder. Her husband was treated for minor injuries and a passenger in the other car had minor injuries. The other driver Dalton Walker of Barstow California was uninjured his wife had minor facial wounds. The crash involved a following car driven by Mr Cushing of Waco Texas and a sudden slow down led to Tapley losing control and colliding with oncoming traffic. Wrecker removal freed Mrs Tapley. The Hidalgo County investigation aided by local traffic details.
