New Mexico Oil Used on Highways

The Dayton Oil and Refining Company of Dayton sells road oil from its refinery to the New Mexico State Highway Department for construction work in the Clovis area. Three or four road oiling projects will receive supplies as refining allows. Oil comes from the jelly pool southwest of Dayton and is trucked to the refinery until a pipeline is built. The highway department regards the product as high quality and cheaper than imported oil.

Plans for Westward Gas Line From El Paso to Lordsburg

Western Gas Company plans to start construction of natural gas lines from El Paso to Lordsburg and from Lordsburg to Douglas and Globe by October or sooner depending on survey progress. Lines from El Paso to Lordsburg and toward Globe have begun surveying with engineers from Ford, Bacon and Davie New York, and chief locating engineer George O Connor. Officials say pipelines will be large enough to supply unlimited gas and enable ranches along the route to connect, bringing a clean safe and affordable fuel.
