Federal milk standard plan eyed for Lordsburg

M Miller of the United States Public Health Service with I Bolton of New Mexico Public Health said the federal milk standardization program is adopted in many American cities. The plan grades milk A and B and aims to improve supplies and consumer knowledge, with Lordsburg urged to implement as a key west side crossing in the district.

Mrs. J Cloyd Miller underwent a successful appendectomy for appendicitis and is recovering well. Miss Josephine Bailey of the post office force also had an appendectomy and plans to return to duties in a few days. Jim Robertson was in the hospital for several days for medical treatment.

Ike T DeVilbiss a valley view pioneer resident died last Tuesday in Pearsall Texas at age 53 after long illness. Funeral held from his old home attended by his son Gail DeVil biss and family and other children. He had many friends in Hidalgo county who mourn his loss.

Supreme Court Reverses Rosser Koawer Mortgage Case

The New Mexico Supreme Court on Saturday reversed Judge Hay in Rosser v Koawer, invalidating service of process on Ward Rosser’s father in Texas. Ward Rosser sought to cancel a mortgage to his father, W M Rosser, on land near Wilna. Attorneys Sanders and Taggart protested service. A W Pollard represented the plaintiff on appeal. The high court found the lower court's ruling erroneous and quashed the service.

Cemetery Fund Urges Support For Food Sale

Gracie Conner, chair of the Cemetery Association food sale committee, appeals to the public to contribute to a fundraiser at the sale. With only $2 in the cemetery fund, the caretaker may have to be discharged, jeopardizing the work to beautify grounds and plant trees and flowers.
