James P. Porteus, a well known Lordsburg townsman, spent two years touring Europe and Africa with an American address of Lordsburg New Mexico U S A. He paid ten dollars in each country for visas and spent about one hundred dollars, spreading the town’s name. He admired Mussolini and his rugged honesty. Shooting Near Doubtful Canyon prompts arraignment

Shots were fired near Doubtful Canyon ranch near Steins yesterday afternoon. Fred Braidfoot was hit by the big end of the eaa while Jim Burleson and Dave Miller escaped. Sheriff Jones and M M Crocker rushed to the scene but found Coopetable Mobson in control with no injuries. Braidfoot to be arraigned before Judge Marsalis this afternoon.

Local Church Services Seek Believers This May

The Church of Christ on Pyramid Street lists Lord's Day services at 9 50 AM including Bible school led by J M Dorrance as superintendent. Communion and preaching at 1 PM with a sermon on The True Vine and the Branches.
