Mavericks Sweep Relays To Down Cobre Indians
Lordsburg Mavericks beat the Cobre Indians 80.5 to 65.2 in a dual meet on the local field. Doyar May won the 100 and 220 dashes and ran on two winning relays. Several Mavericks posted top finishes including Sandy Fisher in discus and Ju nior Martinez in the two mile. George Botzko was hurt in warmups and sidelined. Next they enter the Cobre Relays with prelims at 9:30 a.m. and finals at 1:00 p.m.

Former Pastor To Hold Revival At Methodist Church
The Rev. W. C. Strickland, former Lordsburg pastor, returns to lead a revival at Lordsburg United Methodist Church from Sunday through Thursday April 20 24 with daily 7 30 pm services. Activities include morning prayer circles 10 am led by various hosts and a noon Bible study luncheon, plus a daily men’s breakfast at 7 am. On final night a family outreach dinner precedes services. Virginian Jones Hidalgo is among 17 county extensionists joining an NMSU Cooperative Extension Service training conference this week.
