Omans Club Tea to Feature Taos Artist Charles of Taos

H Reynolds joins Omans Club for a Monday afternoon tea and art exhibit by Charles of Taos. The event includes a 3 oclock artist talk and a program with dances and band numbers. Mrs Claude C Fuller chairs the program, with several club members on the exhibit and tea committees.

Frontier Flies Strawberry Special

Frontier Airlines carried 424 pounds of strawberries from Phoenix to Romney Produce Co for distribution in Lordsburg Silver City T or C and also Douglas Bisbee Clifton Morenci. A second shipment of 450 pounds arrived on Wednesday for Rom neys.

C of C Plans Museum on Silver City Site

The Chamber of Commerce met on April 14 with Lew Blachly of Pioneer Foundation proposing a Southwestern Museum for Silver City. A 300 foot front block, now storage for the State Highway Commission, could house the museum valued at about 70 000 to 75 000. Petitions will circulate in Dona Ana Luna Grant Sierra and Hidalgo counties. delegates will attend Albuquerque meetings April 23 and 24. A report on hospital campaign expenditures was also presented.

Animas High School Accredited Four Year Status

State notice confirms Animas High School in New Mexico was listed as a four year school in 1946 47 before shifting to a three year accreditation in June 1947. Principal J R Springer has led Animas Public Schools and will depart for a new post in Butler County Pennsylvania.

Rodeo PTA Installs Officers At April Meeting

At the Rodeo PTA meeting on Thursday April 10 new officers were installed led by president Mrs Bob Jarvis and 2nd vice president Mrs Bueford Martin with secretary treasurer Mrs Earle Fanning to be ins ta rem. The group planned a School Carnival for May in Martin hall and enjoyed an educational film with refreshments served by the committee.

Elks Minstrel Show Planned For April 25 26

Townspeople support Elks club minstrel show to be staged in the high school auditorium on April 25 and 26. The production will feature hula and gypsy dances old time Mammy songs and many jokes promising lighthearted entertainment.

Captain John R. Bradford of the State Patrol announces brake and light stickers are due May 1. License plates are now handled by license collector Mrs. Eleanor Cochran and driving without a 1952 plate is unlawful. Owners should obtain brake stickers and 1952 plates promptly to avoid violations.

Deming Old Timers Parade Draws Regional Guests

Deming residents judged the Old Timers Parade with Mr. R B Ownby Mrs George Pp Jeffus and Mr Sam Gass presiding. Attendance reached about 500 at the Mission cafe dinner and gathering after the parade featured Pancho Villa era and frontier events.
