Easter program at Baptist Church to feature garden display

The Sunday service includes Sunday School at 10 a m and preaching at 11 a m. The Easter program in the evening uses a lit garden scene with a seven foot cross and a crucified Christ. Nearly twenty people participate and the note invites all to attend and come early to find a seat.

Lordsburn hospital reports B H Cross of Vaiedon had a very successful appendicitis operation. Mrs Joe Winslett underwent a major operation and is recovering. L Cummings sold the Candy Shop to Dee Hall this week and plans to move back east. The communities bid farewell to the Cummings while welcoming the Hall family to the business circles and wishing them well.

John W. Bennett returns from Louis d Orr Copper Company stockholders meeting near Globe. The firm, once selling the Sleeping Beauty claims in 1917, now plans to finish development with 600000 in California capital, erect a mill, and move offices to Miami and Los Angeles. Easter services and picnic at Methodist Church

On Sunday April 20 1924 the Methodist Church plans an Easter programme with Sunday School and preaching at 10:30 AM. After the morning service attendees will share lunches then hunt Easter eggs. Sunday brought five new members to the Baptist Church. two sought baptism and three joined by letter. The congregation observed the Lord’s Supper at the end of the service. Baptismal plans will be announced later.

A. M. opened the Sanitary Market this week in the building west of the Hollen hotel. Butch Nicholson leads the market and Jim Darley oversees groceries and provisions. The store aims to keep everything as clean as a parlor car and to stock all items to eat.
