A W Morningstar served as joustmaster and Lucius Dilis delivered the chief address. The lodge stayed in darkness until Master Sunday and public relighting followed.
Livestock expert Dr. Hugh Hurst from the agricultural college will visit Virden on April 20 at Red Rock on April 24 and Playas on April 22 at 8 am in Animas at 2 pm. The events are announced by J G Koogler the live country agent.
The Star Theatre presents a Sunday April 19 program featuring Angeles of Crook and St. A Monday April 20 showcases Hurricane Kid with Hoot Gibson and his Golden Mare. The Marriage Circle plays April 21 and 22 followed by Anna Christie April 23 and 24. April 18 offers The Riddle Rider and a two reel comedy Clear the Way. Hoot Gibson appears again Monday night April 20 in Hurricane Kid.
J A Nichol known as Batels reenters the meat and produce trade with a cheaper delivery free service. He opens New Way Market this morning promising no goods to be delivered. Success is hoped for this venture.
Lordsburg Woman's Club plans strong showing at Silver City district federation with president Mrs W G Downey and delegates Mrs BK Austin and Mrs EF Lyday. Miss Clayton chairs music and will present readers, while Mr Noogler, Mr Hose and Miss Finley perform.
Lordsburg Bear Cats won 8 to 4 in their season opener. Beeker 2b Egonth Olney Darela Maraalis Chase Chaveze Martin Allen led the batting. Truman pitched for the visitors. Next, the Bear Cats travel to Deming to face the ballooning team.
The American Legion urges World War I veterans in Hidalgo County to meet at 7 PM next Monday the 6th to discuss forming a local post. Dickson of C A Mining has donated the use of the Mine Club House for the meeting as volunteers push the endowment for World War orphans.
At Lordsburg Hospital Mr Wheelock Gleeson of Tyrone and Mrs Ralph Smith recover from operations. Caroline Mullin of Haehila completes a minor procedure with satisfactory progress.
The W. M. S will meet Friday afternoon at the ranch home of Mrs. W. W. Barnes for a tea gathering.

County superintendent Mrs. Iwra Kerr reports a very interesting church service on Easter Sunday conducted by Rev. J. D. Henry of Derming. Five services were held in the morning and afternoon with 55 attending Sunday school.
Dorothy Wacker turned five on Friday with a party in the primary school room. Miss Simms oversaw the program as eighteen friends attended. Mrs. Wacker treated guests to ice cream and cake while Dorothy received many gifts from family and friends.
The Mt States Telephone and Telegraph Co builds a new brick and pebble dash office to be ready by July. The modern structure will feature improved waiting and operating rooms and a rear manager’s residence. A new board will be installed and cables replace wires with all night service planned.
In Houston on a joint convention of the Good Roads Association and Hawkhead National Highway Association, Judge Willard Holt of Lordsburg New Mexico is invited as a speaker. The letter requests a photograph a biographical sketch and a copy or outline of the intended talk to assist in introductions on arrival.
