Chamber Banquet Tickets Go On Sale In Lordsburg
Tickets for the April 25 chamber banquet are on sale through the Chamber Board, local businesses, or the chamber office per Glenn Dorsett. The event honors Lordsburg Hidalgo County’s outstanding citizen, with 21 letters submitted for selection and the honoree announced at the banquet. Congressman Harold Runnells will deliver the keynote address. Past winners include Harold Bishop, Bill Kimbley, Victor Reay, Mertice Brooks, Jim Culberson, Diana Culberson, Mrs. Claude Fuller, Gilbert Buvens, J. H. Baxter, D. O. Harber Heather, and Rev. J.R. Mishap Injures Two Local Youths
Two Lordsburg juveniles were taken to Hidalgo General Hospital after a westbound motorcycle on Railroad Avenue was struck by a pickup driven by Rogilio S. Molinas of Lordsburg. Police say no citations were issued and the incident remains under investigation.

Accident Victim Dies In Cross-State Crash
Frank DePaoli 78 of Lordsburg was struck by a car on Railroad Avenue near the Holiday Motel April 5. He died on arrival in Phoenix after transfers from Hidalgo General Hospital and El Paso. The car was driven by Willis O. Lamar of Animas. Funeral services pending.
