Auto Tragedy Claims James Willis Brother of Local Residents
James Willis 28 of El Paso died in a Saturday night auto tragedy that claimed four lives. He was survived by a widow, his Center Texas parents, a brother Garnet of Los Angeles, and a younger brother Jack who stayed with the Kirkpatricks here. Mrs Noble Kirkpatrick and Gordon Willis traveled to El Paso and then Center for the funeral.

John Hancock Lacey, a longtime resident and pioneer, is honored in a large funeral at Heather Mortuary. Rev. Paul H. Elmore delivers the sermon while a male quartet and Mrs Caen provide music. Pallbearers include sons in law and grandsons Luke and Victor Lacey. Lacey, born in Tuve Nett Texas December 6 1480, married Margaret Virginia Pennler and left eight sons and four daughters plus 26 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He joined the Christian Church 39 years ago and spent his days improving the world. Walter S Mullins serves as funeral director.
