Carlisle Janeth Hort Pamber of Oberlin visited a friend here recently. Miss May Bulcomb spent Sunday with Pitsfield friends. YQ Farr of Amherst guest of relatives in this neighborhood. Miss Anna Penfound of Coonville was guest of relatives last Saturday. Farmers busy gathering ice for the coming season. Mr and Mrs T J Squires spent Sunday with Mrs V Harrick of Henrietta who is ailing. Springfield will not return to Oberlin Community until spring term. Mrs John Taylor, severely ill, is improving slowly. Dr Chas Cushing attending her. Miss Tillie Brandt closed her school briefly due to illness but is much better now. Rank Netsinger rented Clark farm for next year and will move in spring. Mr and Mrs A Buskness to occupy the new house.

January notes from Wellington report Mrs T R Herrick recovering slowly and J Thomas returning from Danden to set up a monument. Reed of Jefferson in town with Mrs Reed escorting him home. Deila Foote wed Miss Carter of New London. AR Allen from the bank employed at a clothing house. Mrs Phoebe Emerson owner. Mrs Kitchen injured his arm. Chauncy Garnet grandson hurt. Dr Gregg attended. Lea Wadsworth rents mill to make boxes and hires a cookkeeper. J Mason buys Medina Baking Co and plans to run it. Hyers Colored Minstrels performed. manager H S Hyer died next day.
Obscure obituary notes the death of a Proreer and funeral held at the M Er church in Grefton with interment at Nesbit cemetery. Mentions Mrs Saissury, Uren family, and several sons including Chas F. Sails, deputy sheriff, in a 19th century local notice. Card of thanks expresses gratitude to neighbors, friends, and choir.
The annual meeting for electing officers and other business will be at the court house in Elyria on Saturday January 25 1896. Secretary E Witcans Elyria Ohio. Also advertising for stenography and typing services with contact J Mewpytson 318 Room 4 Massey Block Elyria. Also Shilohs Cure advertised for coughs and colds and croup with claims of curing consumption asthma and related illnesses.

Christian Endeavor Union sponsored a missionary rally at the Baptist church Monday evening with several hundred young people in attendance. Miss Lillian Sears acted as chairman and introduced Miss Harding who spoke on Missionary Life. Masa Bates of Oberlin, with a sister in Armenia, described the Power of Missions and foreign work. Miss Gessie Brooks of this city, soon to become a missionary to China, urged seven reasons for foreign service. The engaging talks stirred renewed interest in missions among attendees.
Darsey Avetta Sweet died last Saturday at her Lodi Street home after a year of illness. Born March 9 1874 in LaGrange as Darsey Heath, she married Prof. Leonard J. Sweet on September 14 1880 and lived with him in Oberlin and Elgin before joining the ME church. An active member of Sunday school and the junior Woman's League, she was beloved for her cheerful faith and memories of pleasant days. The funeral will be held at the church Monday with interment in the Lyra cemetery. Her family expresses gratitude for sympathies shown.
