A party of Elyria young men from Corwin on foot sailed a Cedar point yacht toward the Sandusky region when a squall struck off Kellys Island. The crew including Wanamaker, Stocking, Bateman, Cross, Foley, and others fought the waves with an experienced sailor and a watching crew from Sandusky to avert disaster. They escaped unharmed after the second squall blew apart spars and threatened to overturn the craft. Meanwhile, local dignitaries and guests, including Mr Bush and Mr Bust, observed and aided in the recovery. The report also notes a separate update on amusement season openings and civic details from the same area.
