Wealthy cotton broker dies in North Lincoln home
Henry Abraham a prominent cotton broker of H. Abraham & Co. New Orleans died Tuesday at his daughter's residence on North Lincoln avenue after ten days illness. He was seventy four. A son and daughter survive. The body was shipped to New Orleans by funeral director W. H. Morris.

Long Branch honors one of its oldest residents Mrs Sarah Conover Morford widow of Hon John A Morford laid to rest in West Long Branch cemetery. Born 1813 she lived in Long Branch over a half century and died yesterday at New Britain Conn. She helped found the First Reformed Church and supported local uplift. Judges Hardy and Chief Jesse Lawrence rode to guard the route as clubs in costume joined a half mile long procession ending at a masked ball at the Queen’s residence with 500 attendees and prizes awarded, including prettiest costume to Mrs Tillie Howland.

Fifth piling driven for new pier construction
Howland drove the fifth concrete steel piling of 500 needed for the million-dollar pier. About twenty two more piling are ready to be driven and Howland expects two more weeks to complete this phase. Casting of piling had resumed yesterday under engineer Bt. John Clark with his son assisting in his absence.
