Roy Campbell Dies at Monmouth Memorial Hospital
William Roy Campbell a Long Branch native and former Washington Treasury architect, died after a three week typhoid illness. Funeral will be Wednesday at 3:30 from S. S. Higginen’s Eatontown home and 4:00 at Christ Church Shrewsbury. He was born February 1887 and educated in Long Branch, later working in architecture offices in Long Branch and Hartford before joining the Treasury building staff in Washington. He studied at Washington University and the University of Pennsylvania before illness. He was active in St James Church and a longtime choir member.

Fire alarm box demolished after coachman collision
Fire alarm box 14 at Ocean and Lincoln avenues was wrecked Sunday. Firemen found the inner box ruined and blamed a wagonette mishap or curb impact. Coachman Gordon claimed he pulled in to avoid an automobile and knew nothing of summoning the fire department. Randolph McLain opens a meat delivery route with cash orders available citywide.

Holiday trolley wreck injures five near Highlands
Five people were hurt when a 7 o clock trolley struck a threeseated carriage at Miller Street crossing. The Hanson family and a couple were aboard the carriage. The driver and motorman were arrested, bail set at $200 each, and Hanson threatened a $10,000 suit.
