Mrs. Frederick H. Luther is recovering after a bulldog attack on Rockwell Avenue a week ago. Dr. C A Clark, her physician, says healing may take about two weeks unless complications arise and she should recover soon.

A daring young colored man walked into J Barschofsky on Broadway and selected a suit, claiming he only wanted price info for shoe repairs. After the shopkeeper noticed the apparel missing, the thief fled with an accomplice. Harry Mitchell was later arrested and identified by the shopkeeper. Charles C. Covert of Lakewood a former West Long Branch resident died at City in the Pines from concussion of the brain after a cellar door fell years ago. He was 50. Survived by widow and two children Irene 11 and William in California. brothers Alexander Richard and Thomas. Prominent in Lakewood as painter for Rockefeller, board of education member, deacon, and member of several clubs. Funeral planned for West Long Branch burial. John Street prayer service led by Rev John Y Dobbins at St Luke's church.

The Commerce Chamber elected officers for the year after hearings on treasurer and carnival committee reports. Fred R. Cutcheon resigned as director and second vice president. Secretary position held by Arthur H. Hope from April 1 to October 1 at 75 dollars monthly was declared vacant. Hope ceased work on October 1 by mutual consent but offered to help clear the 191% carnival deficit. Officers elected: President Charley McFaddin, First VP Joseph T. Welch, Second VP John B. The funeral for Harry J Prank who died at midnight Sunday at the Manly place West Long Branch will be held tomorrow at 11 30 AM. Long Branch Lodge No 78 AF and AM will conduct the Masonic services at the house. An emergent communication of Long Branch Lodge will meet at Masonic Hall at 10 30 AM to attend the funeral. Frank belonged to Chicago Lodge No 447 F and A M and Chicago Lodge of Elks. Exalted Ruler Charles Rosencrans of Long Branch Lodge No 742 visited to arrange a delegation. The body will be moved to Linden NJ for burial by William J H Morris Jr.
A Friday afternoon event at Red Bank High School honored teachers and the Senior Club with a Domestic Science grade ten entertainment. Performances included piano duets, recitations, a Seniors’ Complaint, vocal and violin solos, and a Mrs Callahan suffrage dialogue. Refreshments followed in a decorated room, then social dancing on the main floor.
