Junior Ball Given by Dancing Class at Townley

One of spring season’s social highlights was the first anniversary junior ball hosted by Philip H. Coleman’s Saturday afternoon dancing class at Townley Hall. About two hundred attendees enjoyed a four hour program featuring a Spring Idyl and a two-part dance set, with patrons including Mrs. Stout and Mrs. Samuels.

Two Die in Brighton Beach Auto Race Crashes

At the Brighton Beach Motordrome two fatal crashes during the 24 hour race cost lives. Shore Electric plans new Red Bank power plant expansion

Shore Electric Company of Red Bank is supervising construction of a new cement, fireproof power plant along the Central Railroad tracks between Bergen Place and Newman Springs Road. The 84 by 78 foot facility will cost about 76000 and double current capacity from 1000 to 2000 horsepower. Upon completion the Chestnut Street plant will be abandoned and some machinery moved. A private telephone exchange will link the main office, plant, and residences. Van Hoel and Hobson rent Moses cottage on Ocean Avenue for summer.
