Unconscious From Baseball Blow At Fair Haven Game

At Yaie Haven yesterday Mrs. Wallace Sutter was struck on the head by a baseball near the sidelines and fell unconscious. A passerby, William D. Sayre, aided her until she could go home with his help. The Foxes defeated the Cedars 10 to 0 in a tame affair as spectators grew discontent with the visitors.

Mannon Convalescing After Park Visit

Mr Mannon of Tabor street returns home improved in health after visiting his daughter Mrs Janes Brower at Asbury Park. He has suffered rheumatism for some time and friends are pleased to learn he is convalescing.

Frederick M. Kerby, interior department stenographer who drafted Taft exoneration letter in Ballinger Pinchot affair, is dismissed by Ballinger though protected by civil service rules. Panhandler Charles Robinson Arrested at Red Bank

Charles Robinson was arrested Friday night at Red Bank and jailed. He appeared at a Saturday morning hearing and was fined $2.50, then released after paying the fine.

Former Hospital Patients Dine At Lincrest Home

In fall 1908 Postmaster John R. Conover of Lincroft and grocer Oliver Van Camp of Point Pleasant were patients at Monmouth Memorial hospital. They formed a pleasant acquaintance, and yesterday Conover hosted Van Camp at his Lincrest home. Conover has largely recovered from surgery and runs a successful general store with a notable asparagus bed in season. Van Camp is a brother of Mrs. R. H. Hughes of Long Branch.

Point Pleasant Youth Fractures Ribs in Accident

Oliver Van Camp of Point Pleasant suffered a breast injury when assisting in jointing a pipe. He fractured two ribs and has been treated at Monmouth Memorial Hospital. He visited his physician Dr. F B Slocum yesterday. Frank Martineau, theatrical manager, heads to Fair Haven for summer. He reports 2000 miles traveled this season and two trips to California.

Beaten by One Run in Extra Innings at Asbury Park

In an eleventh inning heartbreaker at Asbury Park, Chattle fell by one run. Early errors by W Morris and Little gave Asbury Park a lead, Chattle rallied in the sixth and ninth, and an eleventh inning miscue by Erickson allowed the winning run to score after J Burke fanned. Burns, Woolley, Helles and Townsend featured in the tense action as the game extended beyond regulation.

Mrs Byron Recovering After Bilious Attack

Dr Hyde Found Guilty of Murder in Swope Family Case

Kansas City May 16 After sixty hours of deliberation the jury convicted Dr BH Clark Hyde in the first degree of murdering Col Thomas H Swope the millionaire philanthropist to obtain his fortune The case charged Hyde with poisoning his wife s family using disease germs including typhoid diphtheria and other poisons Mrs Hyde collapsed in court when the verdict was read while the husband remained stoic

Mrs Kate Carlile Funeral Held in Eatontown

The funeral for Mrs Kate Carlile of Eatontown widow of Thomas P Carlile will be tomorrow afternoon from her Broad Street residence at 2 oclock. Five local deaths in twelve hours

Five deaths are reported within twelve hours in Long Branch and nearby towns. Mary Winton, 66, widow of Amos Winton, died at her daughter’s home after surgery. Henry Chambers, about 30, bled to death at his Columbus Avenue home. Thomas H Burtt of Long Branch died of Brights disease aged 63. Samuel Carter, 85, died at Monmouth Memorial Hospital from Brights disease. burial plans and surviving relatives are listed for each case.
