Wife Deserters Face Court In Freehold Sessions

In Freehold Judge Foster's court this morning two men pleaded guilty to deserting wives and children. a third pleaded not guilty. John B Mount admitted deserting his wife and six children at Rumson on November 1 last and was remanded for sentence next Thursday. Stephen Schultz pleaded guilty to deserting his wife at Matawan with sentence deferred. Gustave Bu geh pleaded not guilty to deserting his wife and four children at Red Bank on October 20 with trial set for next Thursday.

Four Monmouth Men Named in Governor's 51 Appointments

Trenton announces 51 appointments sent to the Senate by Governor Wilson. One Monmouth man appears in each batch. Crater of Freehold becomes Secretary of State. Mrs Roche Dead After Long Illness In Florida

A notice reports the death of Mrs. Sarah Palmer Roche widow of Rev. Civil Service Exam Planned for Clerk and Carrier Posts

The Civil Service Commission will conduct an examination here for clerk and carrier on April 1. Applicants must be 18 to 44 on exam day. Blank forms available from the district secretary at Long Branch post office. Mrs Mary J Fachanan aged 41 died Sunday in Eatontown at her daughter's home on Railroad Avenue. Funeral services were held yesterday and burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery Newark under J G Sexton. Mrs McDonald, residing at a hospital, missed the funeral.

Allgor Back in Sea Bright After Winter Run-In

James M. Allgor returns to Sea Bright from Long Branch and allegedly attacked Postmaster P. Hall Packer in the street. Packer warns he will notify prosecutors if Allgor continues, who reportedly laughed and promised not to return until after the new year.

Plans for Clean Up Week in city announced

A city wide cleanup drive is set for the third week in April with a five member committee to seek council funding. The Woman's auxiliary will educate and publicize in multiple languages, while health and business groups back efforts to install waste receptacles and promote civic pride.

The Weather Bureau forecasts 36 hours ending Friday with rain or snow in New Jersey tonight then fair and colder Friday. Northeast storm warnings extend from Boston to Delaware with the storm moving southeast Missouri eastward and brisk north to northeast winds. A torrent of petitions fills the commissioner race with 25 nominees and 53 petitioners. New entrants include Judge Henry Schoeniein and councilman Isaac Welley. City Engineer J Wesley Seaman rises in the eligible class, while Marshall Woolley and numerous others pop up with varying petition totals. The Spring Lake auxiliary of the Monmouth Memorial Hospital met yesterday afternoon.

Troop Cavalry Red Bank Holds Regular Army Inspection

The Second Troop of Cavalry conducted a regular army inspection at the Troop Armory on Patterson Ridge Monmouth Street Tuesday night. Captain Winns led the event with about two hundred members and officers present praised for their fine appearance and equipment.

Senate Passes Over Twenty Bills In Trenton Session

The New Jersey Senate met in three sessions and advanced more than twenty bills. Measures include wider employment of county prisoners on roads, adding a second Vice Chancellor with salary rise to 12000, and making intoxicated driving a misdemeanor. Other actions create a South Jersey Normal School and new tax on fertilizer. The House passed thirty five measures including bonds for grade crossing eliminations and municipal financing. The insurance reform bill was defeated.
