Woman's body found in wrecked Atlantic Highlands home

In Atlantic Highlands a lone elderly resident Mrs Retta Anna Gill was found dead in a corner of her balcony after a search by County Detective Elwood Minagh and Chief John Snedeker. Coroner Sickles ordered an autopsy which concluded natural causes from heart disease with acute indigestion.

Fair Grounds Auction To Sell Parker Property In Red Bank

Two thirds of the Red Bank property used by Monmouth county fair association will be auctioned Saturday of next week under Annie Parker will provisions. Executors Van Schoick and Benjamin Allen Parker manage the estate with funds to support James Edward Parker and Forman O Parker for life, Benjamin’s share finally passing to heirs if surplus remains.

Big Addition to Catholic Rectory Planned This Spring

The Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea rectory will be enlarged next spring with plans by architect Leon Cubberley. Additions include two rooms per side, a study and bath for Rev. William Cantwell and Rev. F X Janevan, plus new piazzas altering the exterior. A fireproof garage for John Lovett at Little Silver is also sketched, and remodeling plans for Sigmund Elsner’s store near Front Street, Red Bank, call for a full makeover with electric elevators, two lofts, and a new front.

State road plans show 62 miles built, 300000 spent

State Road Commissioner Frederick Gilkyson reports to Governor Fort on a year of progress with 62 miles of new roads built at a cost of 300000. Of this, 174442 was paid on contracts and 19662 to road supervisors. He favors bituminous macadam for durability and long term savings, noting higher initial costs but lower maintenance and fog risks.
