Grain Rates to Be Uniform Across Missouri River to Illinois Mills
The Interstate Commerce Commission bans A. R. advance on empties after suspending a western railroads bid to drop joint grain rates from Missouri river points to southern Illinois milling points. The commission orders uniform rates for the territory and caps them at half a cent per 100 pounds when heading to seaports. Proposed freight hikes on empty fruit carriers returning to California after shipment are ruled unreasonable and current rates stay in effect.
