Benefit Supper for Benjamin Dennis at Belford

A salad supper will be served next Wednesday night from six to nine at Yard's Hall Belford for Benjamin Dennis of Port Monmouth. The married young man has suffered rheumatism pneumonia and typhoid fever in the last six months and previously held a good job with the Central Rail Road Company.

Outlook for Fight in Convention Over the Chairmanship

Baltimore June 24 Colonel Bryan says no compromise and a progressive must be named after Parker is named temporary chairman. The committee may ratify Parker while contests rage on the floor with many ballots likely and a possible compromise candidate discussed to offset Parker. Bryan says he will run if no progressive steps forward.

Small Fire at Daly Barn Near Chelsea Avenue

Fire alarm box 32 summoned the fire department yesterday afternoon to a small blaze at the entrance of the Daly barn in the rear of the Daly cottages on Chelsea avenue. The barn near the Southern railroad tracks was quickly doused with a water stream. no damage occurred. The vacant structure’s cause remains unknown.

Will Talk On Division of County Assessor to Speak Tonight

Assessor Arthur H. Hope of Asbury Park will discuss county division at City Hall tonight. The Board of Trade invited him to explain his map and a committee arranged the visit. Attendance was expected at Library Hall last Monday but he could not attend. Five minute schedule begins July 1 on Atlantic Coast Line between Long Branch and Asbury Park. Red Bank woman Mrs. Bennett narrowly escaped serious injury lighting a kerosene stove Sunday. a fire started from oil paper under the stove and was quickly extinguished.

The U S Weather Bureau forecasts overcast conditions in New Jersey for the next 26 hours with little temperature change. Observations show a high of 70 yesterday and 60 low last night, with 70 at 8 am today. Wind light, south breeze, humidity around 78 to 82 percent. Death by own action on Long Branch beach found

Joseph Casey 26, who came to Long Branch from East Oceanic, died by self poisoning on a Beach near Brighton Hotel bath houses last Saturday night or Sunday morning. The coroner noted a note to Michael O Rourke and the cyanide poisoning. Burial planned at Mount Olivet. funeral at Holy Cross Church.

Mansion Fire Destroys Deal Esplanade Residence

Mrs Arthur J Horgan’s grand Deal Esplanade mansion burned at five yesterday, nearly 160000 in losses. The second floor blaze started in the northeast corner discovered by maid Migs Anthousine Gillois who fainted after alarm. Firemen from Deal, Allenhurst North Asbury Asbury Park and Elberon Engine Company fought the flames as residents and servants evacuated valuables and fur nishings.

Drowned Red Bank lad found safe after river search

Kenneth Wymbs eight years old of Red Bank was located on the North Shrewsbury riverbank near Red Bank boat works after being missing since Saturday. He was with Arthur Huff known as ringleader of a local robbery gang and had been in a shed with Huff the night before the alleged plan to rob stores. Huff fled when officers approached and was previously paroled for sentencing.

One Killed Five Hurt In Middletown Car Crashes

A fatal Middletown auto crash and another crash left Miss Susan A. Reilly dead at Red Bank and six others injured including Dennis O Connor and Mary O Connor. A New York party escaped serious harm when their car overturned on Riverside Drive. Coroners and doctors attended the scenes and funeral arrangements began.

Met Death on Rail at Bradley Beach Depot

Pasquale Rozzo 80 an Italian laborer of 1607 Pangs Ave Asbury Park was struck by a northbound train while watching a southbound departure. He died an hour and a half later from injuries including a severed left arm and mangled right leg. Engineer William Ferguson of Point Pleasant and other crew members transported him to the hospital.

Fire Alarm Box Report Reveals Quick Fire Suppression

Fire alarm box 28 at the corner of Browdway and Second Avenue reported a small grass plot behind a billboard owned by the American Bill Posting Company. Dr. H R Clark and Wallace R Fedler helped extinguish the blaze with a few pails of water and no damage occurred.

The Rev Alfonso Dare and Miss Frishmuth were married last night at Simpson Church with Rev Dr John Handley officiating. The bride wore white and the couple plan a four week honeymoon at Harneyville after leaving Asbury Park. Dare, popular in the New Jersey Conference, will be on leave of absence as his congregation covers duties during his absence.
