Red Bank Police Chief Buys Merry Go Round at Auction

Arthur L. Wymbs Red Bank police chief bought a carousel for 188.29 at a constable sale in Red Bank. He said the purchase was an investment with offers to buy back at least 100 over cost. The item, plus a tent engine and equipment, was sold by Stryker and Stryker at Monmouth street. The carousel previously belonged to O Chadburn who disappeared last August.

Red Bank Boys in Training for Summer Races

George Roop and Ensley White of Red Bank are training nightly for two upcoming races. They have entered the five mile race at Keansburg on August 17 during the carnival and the temple race in Perth Amboy later in the month. They run on Middletown roads near Nut Swamp and train indoors at the Red Bank YMCA. Roop is the Monmouth county amateur roller skating champion and the amateur five mile champion.

Red Bank Boy Scouts Tenderfoot Examinations Held At Y M C A

Nineteen Red Bank boys passed tenderfoot examinations at a Y M C A gymnasium session with about thirty candidates. The examiners were Samuel G. Woolley Jacob B. Rye C Harold Tumney and John Read. Successful lads include Millard F. Cornwell Jr William H. Hendrickson Donald Lawes Thomas L. Morris Albert Van Nostrand William B. Sigfried Cyrenius Bennett Jr Theodore Soden Charles D. They were tested on Scouts law flag code and knot making and received the tenderfoot badge after the oath. Patrol leaders will be appointed at a future date based on marks and conduct. Huff Escaped Camp Reoffenders Sent To Reform School

Arthur Huff thirteen year old son of Mr and Mrs William Huff of Red Bank escaped from Kamp Kiamesha in Sussex county on Tuesday night and returned home. He was captured at his River Street home and jailed in Freehold charged with grand larceny. Judge Foster ordered commitment to Jamesburg Reform School likely until age 21. Chief Wymbes noted a reported revolver theft from the camp and a tearful plea to ride the train to Newark funded by a stranger.
