A recent police roundup reports two burglars involved in eight robberies across four houses burglarized and four attempted holdups. The incidents occurred over the past two months, with authorities noting the ongoing series and urging witnesses to come forward.
Thirteen hoboes arrested in Mindietown Township face charges after a spate of robberies and hold ups in the past four months. Eleven were jailed for six months each by Squire Holmes in Freehold. two others await later action as police continue investigations led by Chief Wymbs and County Detective I. Smith. The case spans Red Bank and Freehold areas with multiple incidents along Middletown road.
A rumor says Public Service Corporation seeks control of Jersey Central Traction and may then aim for the Marinventit County Electric Company and Atlantic Coast Line to run an express Newark to the shore service. Negotiations reportedly resumed after a clause blocked a deal, with visits to Red Bank and Free Fireworks planned at Ocean Park.

The twenty first annual clam bake and outing of the officers of the Grand Lodge F A M of New Jersey will be held at Porter Peck Pleasure Bay on Wednesday August 26. Trouble began over boys taking apples when Constable Chandler attempted to serve a warrant on Albert Bennett at a plant. Bennett allegedly assaulted Chandler with a revolver bluff as Parker, the issuing official, pressed charges of assault and disorderly conduct. Bennett’s bondsman was Joseph Valley. Parker faced Bennett at noon after an exchange over the apples.
A detailed search continues in Port Monmouth for a purse snatching suspect who attacked Mrs Thomes Leather and her sister Mrs Emma Woods after they left a trolley at Harmony crossing Saturday night. The women reported screams that drew nearby witnesses and police, with a local man named Donovan among those alerted.
