J I Monsky a Red Bank liquor dealer narrowly escaped serious injury when his buggy was struck from behind by an automobile owned by B E Solomon of the Elberon Hotel. The collision bent the frame and damaged a lamp, sending Monsky’s horse into a panicked run up Broadway. He stopped the horse near Hotel Trenton and had to leave the damaged buggy for repairs, securing another vehicle to continue home.

Townsend Dies of Stroke While Visiting Red Bank
Josaph C. Townsend a longtime Baltimore resident died at 5 AM at the Red Bank home of his nephew by marriage Edward H Lafetra. Aged 77 he suffered a stroke last Saturday night and died despite medical help. He was en route to Vermont with his wife and had planned summer there. Survived by a sister Miss Martha Townsend of Baltimore. Burial preparations by Robert R Mont & Son Red Bank and remains to be sent to Baltimore for Friday funeral at the Friends Meeting House and interment in a Baltimore cemetery.
