Joyriders Hurt In Bradley Beach Collision

A group of joyriders in a stolen car crashed into a milk wagon near Bradley Beach. One passenger was severely cut, the wagon driver slightly hurt, and his horses ran away. The car, linked to Belmar and Allenhurst, was recovered at a local home after the crash around 3:30 AM.

Heat Kills Two Horses and A Nurse Candidate

A fish dealer Ira Hennessey of North Long Branch lost a horse on the Eatontown road to heat. Another horse tethered to A Rossa’s fish wagon collapsed in Rockwell avenue with a broken shaft. Bridge On Fire On Park Avenue Bridge Over Rails

A passing motorist spotted a blaze on the Park Avenue bridge over the railroad in Elberton, with a strong south wind. He alerted the Hiberon engine house, and a bucket brigade formed as EtherGn apparatus arrived. Fire under the flooring spread to cracks in the planks two feet high but firefighters believed the bridge remained safe.

Joint Wedding Anniversary at Latters Silver Jubilee

Mr and Mrs Helles celebrated their silver wedding anniversary at their Chelsea avenue home on July 6 with guests from New York Jersey City and Philadelphia. About a dozen members of the Red Bank Democratic Executive Committee met at chairman Alexander T. Cooper's Broad street office to arrange their annual outing. Plans call for a trip down the North Shrewsbury river to Sandy Mook in late August, with date to be set. Graduates of Chattle High Outing at Asbury Park

Ten members of the 1912 Chattle high school graduates journeyed from Long Branch to Asbury Park for an evening stroll on the boardwalk. The group included Stella M. Egan, William Friedrick, Emily Nemo Benson, Samuel Shrimp Morya, Gladys Alfalfa Wright, Thomas Stanislauus Berrien, Dore Fixler, John Russell Errickson, Dixie Lee Waite and Branley L. Duryee. Mr. Errickson acted as chaperon, the party wore white flannel outfits plus green neckties, and after a two hour outing they returned home amid lighthearted mischief.

Annual Fair Opens at Fair Haven Methodist Church

The annual fair of the Methodist Protestant Church at Fair Haven opened last night in the church basement with crepe paper decorations in blue and white. Booths offered various items including miscellaneous, mystery, aprons, groceries, and tables decorated in rainbow colors, red white and blue, and more. A new Red Bank resident, Mrs Samuel W Wise, gave birth to a nine-pound boy yesterday morning. both mother and son are doing well. Relatives are invited to the funeral of Benj C Hopper at 7:30 this evening at C H G Clark’s residence, with Rev Dr Kidder officiating.
