Would-Be Briber Not Telephone Man

A letter dated October 10 1922 from Exitor of Long Branch New Jersey claims no one from New York Telephones authorized any bribe or personal consideration in exchange for a phone ordinance. The letter denies knowledge of Reynolds mentioned in Councilman James Quirk’s January 16 Record report. The note also references Empire Theatre and a sales pitch for watches at Monmouth Red Bank.
