George Bailey, an African American laborer for bulkhead builder B A Van Brunt, suffered an epileptic seizure and fell across tracks as a southbound Southern train passed near East Long Branch. He struck his left arm on a cylinder head, was rescued by Hyer & Flock ambulance, and taken to Monmouth Memorial Hospital in shock but conscious. He has a history of epileptic fits.
Church trustees James Cloughty Lewig Edwards Henry Joline and another named James were re elected to St Luke's M B Church at the close of last night regival services.

Neighbors gathered at Mrs. and Mrs. Bua Emmons’s Joline Avenue home last Friday night to honor their golden wedding anniversary. The couple have three children Alexander in California Edward in New York and Phomes in Red Bank. None of the children attended. Friends recalled a warm evening with a feast and many presents. Mrs Emmons was widowed in 1861 from Walter A Seaman and is mother to three. Both are past seventy yet active. Mr Emmons long worked in the oyster industry and is a member of Washington Lodge No 9 F and A M and has long been active in lodge work.
Long Branch Lodge No 742 B P O Elks attended the funeral of Mrs Jennie R Stolte at St Marys Church Deal yesterday. The deceased was wife of Bro Richard Stolte and the brothers sent a large Elks emblem of flowers crafted by A Corting the Elheran florist.
